Favorite Steel Cut Oats

Introduction

Extremely filling, great for dinner on a cold night. Extremely filling, great for dinner on a cold night.
Number of Servings: 1

Ingredients

    1/2 cup steel cut oats
    1 medium apple
    1/4 cup raisins
    2 tbsp chopped walnuts

Directions

Simmer oats according to package directions (usually 3:1 water to oats for 15 minutes or so). Dice apple into chunks, sprinkle with cinnamon and cook in large bowl for 2-3 minutes in microwave. Pour cooked oats over apple and stir together, mixing juice and cinnamon into oats well. Top with chopped walnuts and raisins (also a splash of milk if desired--I like unsweetened coconut, but that's not in the nutritional data).
