Beef stew with dumplings

Ingredients

    3 cup flour
    1.5 tsp salt
    1 egg
    1 cup milk
    1 lb beef stew meat
    4 cups beef broth
    1 can diced tomatoes, undrained
    1 carrot, sliced
    1 celery stalk, sliced
    1 onion, cut into wedges
    1 tbsp rosemary, dried
    1 tbsp garlic powder

Directions

Mix flour and salt together in a bowl, add egg and milk. Mix until you make a dough ball - roll out on a floured surface and roll until thin. Cut in half. Use half for another recipe (makes great pierogies or home-made pasta!), and cut the remaining half into small squares - 25 of them. Form each one into a dumpling. Let dry while stew is cooking.

For the stew, brown the beef stew meat, and then put it into a crockpot, with remaining ingredients. Cook on medium heat for 4 hours. Add dumplings to stew, and continue to cook until dumplings are done.
