Grilled Angelfood Cake with Fruit Salsa

Submitted by: AMYSCURTIS

Introduction

This is an interesting twist to the typical angelfood cake. The grill adds a crispy outer layer and the caramelization adds an extra sweet taste! You can get creative and try different fruit toppings of your own (add pinapple or cantalope to the salsa, serve with warm cherry topping, or rasberries and chocolate sauce instead) This is an interesting twist to the typical angelfood cake. Ingredients

Angel Food Cake (1/12 of 12oz cake), 8 serving
Kiwi Fruit, 1 cup cut into small pieces
Strawberries, fresh, 1 cup, cut into small pieces
    Blueberries, fresh, 1 cup
Fat Free Cool Whip, 16 tbsp
Granulated Sugar, 6 tsp (optional, or can use splenda)

Directions

Make fruit salsa by cutting strawberries and kiwi, adding blueberries and sugar(optional) then toss together.

Grill the angelfood cake for a short time on each side watching carefully, it is easy to burn (grillmarks make it better).

Top each slice with fruit and whipped topping. Also great served with your favorite sherbet!

ENJOY!!!!
