Dark chocolate beer cake




Number of Servings: 24

Ingredients

    1 3/4 c. sifted cake flour
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1/4 tsp. baking soda
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/3 c. butter
    1 c. sugar
    2 eggs, separated
    6 TBS dark cocoa powder
    2 TBS canola oil
    3/4 c. any beer (Sweetwater Blue or Terrapin Purple Haze)

Directions

Mix and sift flour, cocoa, baking powder, baking soda, and salt together 3 times. Cream butter until soft. Add sugar gradually, beating after each addition until light and fluffy. Add egg yolks, one at a time, beating until well blended. Add oil. Beat until smooth. Add flour alternately with beer, a small amount at a time, beating until smooth after each addition.
Fold in stiffly beaten egg whites. Turn into greased bundt pan. Bake in moderate 375 degree oven 45 minutes or until done. Sprinkle with powdered sugar to serve.
