Lasagna



Introduction

This is one of my husband's favorite dishes! This is one of my husband's favorite dishes!
Number of Servings: 12

Ingredients

    Lasagna Noodles, partly cooked
    Ground Beef or Turkey
    Hot Italian Sausage
    Cottage Cheese, Nonfat
    Shredded Mozzarella, part skim
    Pasta Sauce, 2 - 26 oz cans

Directions

1) Place noodles in pot of water to boil.

2) Remove sausage casing. Brown in skillet with ground beef. Season to taste with garlic, onion powder, oregano, basil, celery salt and pepper.

3) Once meat is browned, add both cans of pasta sauce and simmer.

4) Assemble lasagna in a 9x13 pan as follows:
Layer of meat sauce
Layer of 4 to 5 noodles
Layer of meat sauce
Layer of cottage cheese
Layer of mozzarella

5) After final layer of noodles, top with mozzarella cheese. Bake in the oven at 375 for 35 minutes. Let rest for 10 minutes before cutting.

Make 8 servings.

    How did this recipe get in the Top 5? The one person that has rated it so far (and I) didn't give it ANY stars yet it's showing up as rated 5 stars. BTW, I agree with SmileyFace201 -- 861 calories and 38.5 grams of fat per serving doesn't really fit into a healthy lifestyle in my book either! - 5/2/09
