Ingredients

Recipe can be doubled for 8 doz cookes--as liisted makes 4 doz.
2 cubes butter, room temp
2 large eggs, room temp
2 cups flour, all purpose
2 cups oatmeal (1 minute)
half cup packed brown sugar
half cup white sugar
1 teas baking powder
1/2 teas baking soda
1/4 teas salt
2 heaping teas cinnamon
1 teas allspice
1 teas nutmeg
2 teas orange zest
2 teas -1 tbsp vanilla extract
1/4 cup milk (whole preferable)
1 cup raisins
1 to 1-1/3 cup walnuts
Directions
Ungreased pans in preheated oven 350 degrees. 12-16 minutes (till golden brown on bottom).
Sift all dry (except oatmeal). Set aside. Cream softened butter and sugar. Add eggs and blend well. Add vanilla and oatmeal. Blend 1 minute. Alternate dry mix with milk (to keep moistened), stir til mixed. Add raisins and walnuts til blended.
Take ! tbsp of dough, pat down to 1/4 inch. Bake 350 for 12-16 minutes (til bottom is golden brown--cookie top is light to gently brown. Immediately remove cookies and place on rack to cool.
Store in jar with a few slices of bread (to keep soft).
