Introduction

A basic sauce that can be used plain or as a cheese sauce for pasta dishes and others that you want a basic sauce for. A basic sauce that can be used plain or as a cheese sauce for pasta dishes and others that you want a basic sauce for.

Ingredients

    Ingredients:
    Butter, unsalted, .25 cup (remove)
    *Wheat flour, white, all-purpose, unenriched, .25 cup (remove)
    Pepper, black, .5 tsp (remove)
    Milk, nonfat, 2 cup (remove)


Directions

Melt butter in saucepan. Add flour and black pepper.
Add any other seasonings as desired.
Cook until smooth.
Add milk about a cup at a time. Stir together.
Cook and stir over medium heat until thickened and smooth.
