Mommy's Pizza Pasta

Introduction

My 2 1/2 yr old loves this, too! My 2 1/2 yr old loves this, too!
Number of Servings: 5

Ingredients

    2 Tbsp Olive Oil
    2 tsp minced garlic
    1 medium onion
    1 large green bell pepper
    5-6 baby bella mushrooms
    1 lb. Laura's Lean Beef Ground Round 4% (cattle raised, no antibiotics)
    Barilla Plus Penne Pasta ( a little over half of the box)
    Mozzarella string cheese (or 1/2 cup shredded mozz.)
    Classico Spicy Red Pepper tomato sauce (or any jarred sauce of your liking without cream or cheese)

Directions

1. Slice the onions and mushrooms and chop up the green peppers and put on your water to boil for the pasta.
2. Saute veggies in olive oil until brown and almost carmelized. Add Mrs. Dash or your own choice of saltless herbs.
3. Set veggies out of pan and add ground beef. Saute. No need to drain, it's pracically impossible the beef is so lean!
4. When beef is brown, add the veggies back in and warm.
5. Add the Classico Sauce and heat until bubbly.
6. Add the cooked pasta and combine.
7. Place stings of cheese or shredded cheese on top, cover and allow to melt.

Serves 5 people (I'm full!)
