Ingredients
-
1 lb. 93% Lean ground beef
1/2 cup dry Bread Crumbs
1/2 cup chopped Onion
1/4 cup chopped Green Pepper
1 Egg
1 1/2 tsp. Salt
1 tsp. ground black Pepper
1 tsp. Ground Savory
Directions
Mix meat, bread crumbs, egg, onion, green pepper, salt and pepper together. Toss it together lightly, don't squish it too tightly.
Form into the balls: 16 large balls for spaghetti feeds 2 balls per person 32 small balls for appetizers feeds 4 balls per person.
Put into a large (preferably non-stick) frying pan with 1/2" water. Cover tightly and let them steam for about 15 minutes over medium heat until all the water is evaporated. If water evaporates too quickly, add a couple more tablespoons, just to get the meatballs cooked through. Then let them brown slightly for another 5 minutes. They are kind of fragile and light. Serve with spaghetti sauce and noodles or serve as appetizers.
