Introduction

Can't decide between cookies and brownies? Get the best of both worlds with these chocolate brownie cookies! Can't decide between cookies and brownies? Get the best of both worlds with these chocolate brownie cookies!
Number of Servings: 29

Ingredients

    1/4 C shortening
    1 C sugar
    1/2 tsp vanilla
    1 large egg
    1 1/2 C white flour
    2 tsp baking powder
    1/2 tsp salt
    1/2 C cocoa powder, unsweetened
    1/2 C milk (I used 2 %)

Directions

Cream together shortening, sugar, vanilla and egg. Combine dry ingredients in separate bowl.

Add dry ingredients to creamed mixture, alternating with the milk. Drop batter by rounded tablespoon on greased cookie sheet or non-greased nonstick cookie sheet.

Bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes.

    Definitely needs something added, like chocolate chips or maybe making it in a pan and icing it? They tasted good but not something I'll make again unless I add the above. I sure did eat enough of them though :-) - 11/19/11

  • This recipe is good but a bit plain.... I added 1/4 cup of butter...2 more tbl milk, egg white, a little bit more vanilla extract, two pouches of truvia, chocolate chips and peanut butter chips more peanut butter than chocolate. - 3/5/12

  • These were so, so good! And easy! I can see, if you have the calories, adding a few things, too : nuts, choco chips, or freezing two of them with whipped cream between them. Or, they're delicious just the way they are! - 4/8/11
