Mom's Stuffed Peppers

Ingredients
* *Peppers, sweet, red, fresh, 5 large (2-1/4 per lb, approx 3-3/4" (remove)
* *Hunt's Tomato Sauce, No Salt Added, 5.5 cup (remove)
* Goya Dry Lentils, .5 cup (remove)
* *White Rice, medium grain, 4 cup (remove)
Directions
Mix rice and lentils together and cook.
Cut off tops of the 5 peppers
Stuff the peppers with the rice/lentil mix
Put in large pot. Pour tomato sauce and remaining rice/lentil mix over the peppers.
Cook until peppers are soft.
Edit: This will be quite bland as is. Add seasonings to taste. Some suggestions from our kitchen include hot pepper flakes, onion powder,garlic powder, and salt if well tolerated.

Very bland & "tomatoeee" not the best recipe for stuffed peppers i've ever tried. When i make it again, the only thing
that will remain will be the PEPPERS,RICE & LENTILS.Then I will add,onions,garlic,cumin, curry, nutmeg & garam massala. I will add chicken broth to the tomato sauce.
& COOK AS.

I actually re-read this after you posted. I forgot to say add seasonings to taste. Some of my family members are very sensitive to sodium, so I'm just used to always seasoning after the cooking is over. Thanks for reminding me! :)
