Introduction

Light, tasty waffles made with 100% whole wheat and cornmeal. Light, tasty waffles made with 100% whole wheat and cornmeal.
Number of Servings: 9

Ingredients

    1-1/4 cups whole wheat flour
    3/4 cup cornmeal
    2 tablespoons sugar
    1 tablespoon baking powder
    1/2 teaspoon salt
    1-3/4 cups nonfat milk
    6 tablespoons unsweetened applesauce
    2 large egg whites

Directions

1. Place all ingredients in a large mixing bowl and combine until well blended and smooth. Let bater sit 5 minutes before using.

2. Preheat waffle maker.

3. Pour 1/2 cup batter onto the center of the waffle maker. When waffle is ready remove and serve immediately.

4. Repeat until batter is gone. Waffles can be cooled completely and then frozen.
