Home made Indian Idly

Introduction

These are deliciously soft and steam cooked. These are deliciously soft and steam cooked.

Ingredients

    Urad dal (3 cups) Idly rawa (6) cups

Directions

Soak the Udad dal ( available in Indian stores) in water for 2-3hrs appox. and when it is soaked grind it into soft batter in a blender and then mix the Idly rawa and add 1/2 tbl sp salt and add around 1 cup of water to dilute it and then spoon it in to the Idly plates and steam cook them in the idly cooker for 10 minutes and wait for 5 min and then take them out to be served. Makes 36 idlies.
