Popovers

Submitted by: KINDRAPUP

Introduction

These are delicious and addictive. They are like puffy pieces of french toast. These are delicious and addictive. They are like puffy pieces of french toast.
Number of Servings: 12

Ingredients

    3 Eggs
    1 cup of nonfat milk
    1 cup of flour
    3 tbsp of butter
    2 tsp of sugar (optional)
    1 tsp of salt (optional)

Directions

Combine the dry ingredients (sugar, salt, a 1 tsp of sugar) in a large bowl. In a separate bowl whisk together the wet ingredients (eggs, milk, and melted butter). Add the wet ingredients to the bowl of dry ingredients and whisk until lumps are gone. Let the mixture sit at room temperature for an hour.

Butter muffin pans and preheat oven to 450. Place buttered pan (without batter) into the oven for 10 seconds. Add mixture to each pan (half full) and place in oven. Cook for 20 mins and then lower the temperature to 350 and cook for another 10-15mins. Make sure NOT to open the oven before the first 30 mins of baking. This will cause the popovers not to pop. Enjoy with cinnamon and sugar or whip cream, or fresh fruit, or jams.
