Instant Chai Tea Mix

Introduction

I love Chai tea but find both the calories and coins add up quickly when I stop and sip at my local coffee house. This is my low impact version of a much higher chai mix I was given as a gift. I find it to be a satisfying treat. I hope you will enjoy it as well. I love Chai tea but find both the calories and coins add up quickly when I stop and sip at my local coffee house. Ingredients

    The ingredient amounts in the recipe look a little crazy because I had to work with the measurement increments given on the boxes. It easily converts, however, to:

    1.5 cups nonfat instant milk powder
    1.5 cups instant tea mix
    1.5 cups Splenda sweetener
    2 cups fat free creamer
    2 tsp. cinnamon
    2 tsp. cardamom
    2 tsp. ground ginger
    .5 tsp. white pepper

Directions

Stir all ingredients together until well blended. Place mixture in blender (I do this in three batches) and run on grind. The mixture will become a fine powder, greatly reduced in volume. Place powder in an airtight container. To mix a cup of tea, add 6 ounces boiling water to 3 tablespoons chai powder. Stir vigorously to dissolve ingredients and enjoy! Makes 24 individual servings.
