Barley shrimp & Brocolli

Ingredients

1 cup uncooked pearled barley
2 cups low sodium fat free chicken broth
1.5 cups water
1 green onion chopped
1 tsp minced garlic
1 cup steamed brocolli
9 oz pre cooked shrimp
freshly ground pepper
sea salt
Directions
Put Barley chicken broth, water, chopped onion and minced garlic in large saucepan. Bring to boil and turn down to simmer covered. Simmer approximately 20 - 30 minutes until barley is fully cooked. Be sure to keep an eye on it while it is simmering so that it does not run out of liquid and scorch, if it starts getting low on liquid add 1/4 - 1/2 cup more. Once Barley is fully cooked add precooked brocolli and shrimp.
season with a little salt and freshly ground pepper . Cover and cook on low until shrimp and brocolli are heated through, be sure there is still enough liwuid so that it does not scorch
