Introduction

Really versatile recipe! Add different fruits and nuts as you want! Really versatile recipe! Add different fruits and nuts as you want!
Number of Servings: 18

Ingredients

    2 c. oats
    3/4 C. flax seed
    3/4 C. wheat germ
    2/3 C. brown sugar
    1/2 C. honey
    4 Tbsp. margarine
    4 tsp. vanilla extract
    1/2 tsp. kosher salt
    2 scoops whey protein
    6 oz. dried fruit
    1/3 C. chocolate chips

Directions

mix
2 c. oats
3/4 C. flax seed
3/4 C. wheat germ
2 scoops whey protein
together and bake at 400 F for 10-12 minutes, stirring occasionally. When done toasting, place in a large bowl.
In a sauce pan, mix
2/3 C. brown sugar
1/2 C. honey
4 Tbsp. margarine
4 tsp. vanilla extract
1/2 tsp. kosher salt
Heat until all melted together and simmering.
Add the liquid to the dry ingredients and mix well, you need to make sure it is all coated well...this acts like glue. Add dried fruit.
Place the mixture in a cake pan lined with wax paper (I spray my wax paper with a little bit of olive oil to keep it from sticking) and spread it out using a wooden spoon or spatula.
Add chocolate chips to the top of the mixture
Press the mixture into the pan, compressing it as much as you can. I use another piece of wax paper for this.
Leave it sit until cool, flip the mixture onto a cutting board and cut into pieces. I wrap mine individually so they don't stick together.
