Best Challah Recipe EVER!!!!!

I use a heavy duty mixer to do the kneading (has a 7 pound flour capacity.) If you don't have one of these the dough will be very difficult to work with unless you add more flour (which will change the texture of the finished product a bit.)Submitted by: SHRINK71

Challah Bread
Challah Bread

Just a quick note to say thanks for the positive feedback about my recipe. Just a few tips about my recipe. I have a fan in my oven which allows me to reduce the temp. The temp in my recipes is about 10 degrees C. lower than in a conventional oven. That is about 25 degrees F. lower. This recipe makes a huge loaf of bread which is great plain, with your favorite spread or as french toast. See Challah French Toast.Submitted by: CAPTAINKIWI

Nutritional info is for using plums but you can use any ripe fruit. These work particularly well with apricots.

This recipe refers to another recipe for the challah dough and uses that to make the muffins.

Spelt Challah, Petitechef's, 1/10 of a large challah or 1 roll, as per instructions

This is a very gooey dough and does not need much kneading at all. Overkneading when using spelt makes the dough fall apart. That's because it has a low gluten content, which is probably why you are using it in the first place!Submitted by: PETITECHEF
