L.R. refried black beans

I like to use Lard or bacon fat because it just tastes so much better, but you can use whatever fat you want to.
I like to serve this over brown rice with fat-free sour cream and chopped onions on top.

Vegetarian Refried Beans

Amazing vegetarian refried beans! I make them with just a little bit of oil, so the fat is very low. This takes about 5 hours to make, but it's worth it. I usually double or triple the recipe and keep it in the fridge so I don't have to make it as often. My husband makes burritos out of these and eats them like sandwiches.

You can make the beans as spicy or mild as you like, by adding more, less or no chili powder and cayenne pepper.
