Thanks for the great video! I can't wait to try this, complete with the cooked spinach. I've never cooked spinach, but this looks like a breakfast I'd love.
Is it less healthy id I just sautee the spinach in a little bit of oil and not steam it?
I just tried the recipe in this video yesterday. Wonderful! First time I poached an egg and it was delicious. I love how soft the egg is! It may seem silly to have an instructional video on a simple technique like poaching eggs, but it's so helpful! Thanks Chef Meg!
I love eggs. Can't wait to try this type of egg. I have been looking for a healthy way for eating eggs.
Great video! Poached is my favorite way to eat eggs, so this video really helps. And I believe reasoning behind white pepper being used on eggs has to do with presentation; you don't see white pepper, with black pepper you would see the specks of black.
Thank you for this demonstration Chef Meg. It was very imformative. One question...Why must you only use white pepper on eggs?
I like black pepper! I dislike spinach very much. I would do this with maybe some shaved low salt deli ham over whole grain toast. I love poached eggs! My absolute favorite.
Wow! No wonder I always end up with a runny yolk and separated messy whites when I poach eggs. Thanks, Chef Meg!
Thank you, great video !
Great video. Thanks
Love this combination. Simple and really tasty!!! Thanks.
Thanks, I think i'll try this tomorrow morning.
thank you, that helped
Looks easy - a bit too much effort with toddlers running around in the morning. Maybe a great breakfast for dinner?!
great video, great for any meal.
before watching this video, i have tried poaching eggs twice but was not really successful. i used the same techniques so i wonder what went wrong in those instances. maybe i should give it another try.
Unfortunately I was unable to view the video. Too bad as I love poached eggs!
What is wrong with using black pepper on eggs? I've never used white pepper for anything. Is this some how wrong? I do appreciate the clear instruction on how to poach an egg properly. I've never managed to do it right. I'll probably just use the spinach fresh though, I don't like it cooked.
What else can we use if allergic to vinegar? Lemon juice perhaps?
I'll have to try it with the spinach!!!
I love nothing more than a good eggs benedict!
That looks wonderful! Spinach is going on my grocery list!
I now know what I'm having for breakfast! Thanks Chef Meg!!
Bought a a microwave egg poacher for my grandson, I've never used it. I have never put vinegar in my water. I do salt the water a little, this helps keep the egg together. Maybe the vinegar helps to float the done egg. I just don't want my eggs to have a vinegar taste. I love poached eggs.
Looks easier than what I do.
You learn something new everyday
i poach often, but the swirling is a good tip. my favorite tho' is cooking the spinach squeezing out the water and using it for b'fast ~ brilliant! thank you so much
I use to poach eggs a long time ago. This video reminded of that time and now I think I'll try it over the spinach as Chef Meg suggests. It'll be a change from my spinach eggwhite omelet I usually have for breakfast.
Yay! I have been wondering how to poach an egg :)
Im really frustrated that I cant open Chef Meg's video's. Especially when I have free time to do it all. Please help bc I want access to these demonstrations and cant open them
hmmm i really like the look of this! yummy! now i can have a nice vegie friendly brekfast with my famly which DOSENT include there bacon and sausages! yay!
It looks good.Does the vinegar add sodium to the egg?
I did this this morning, but I had it boil harder... The egg was perfectly cooked!
This was helpful.
It takes me too long to open your videos up. There has to be something you can help us with.
She makes it look so easy, I love e=over-medium eggs, so I will have to try this...yum!!!!
I often have poached egg for breakfast and like Meg use vinegar / the swirly water, yet end up with a ragged object with lots of 'cooked foam' circling in the pan. I tried Meg's way, the water just short of simmering and cooked a PERFECT egg for the FIRST TIME EVER. I am so chuffed. Thank you Meg x
Thanks forthe video. I think I've always tried using too small a pan for poaching and I never knew about the swirling water bit. Great tips.
Extremely helpful video to this poached egg lover.
Excellent video! Thank you for the great tips!
well, since I was a child I always put a ton of fresh cracked black pepper on my eggs. It's not like it's hazardous to your health so I don't know why she would say you NEVER use black pepper on eggs, must just be a chef preference. I save my white pepper for asian dishes and soups. :)
My grandmother loved poached eggs always and I'm not a big fan but the demonstration makes it look good...maybe will try soon?
Poached eggs are my favorite. We have them every weekend, and I make one extra for the dog!
I have my poached eggs on half a toasted English muffin, piled with alfalfa sprouts and a dash of soy sauce. Yum!
I knew about the vinegar, but swirling the water is a great tip! I just love this combination and plan to have this as a light lunch today!
love this type of breakfast, easy and fast.
Thanks- this looks great!
I'm so glad to find an easy way to make poached eggs. Thanks Chef Meg!
I just have to say, I LOVE CHEF MEG! I have really learned some valuable things! Thank you so much.
I haven't made poached eggs in years. Growing up mom made them quite often. I loved them. I think I will make one for breakfast this morning!
Great tips - makes me want one for b'fast! Would love to see you kitchen "greener" - skip the paper towels and use your hands! BTW - it would be nice to explain why white pepper - I think it's for reasons of color, but would love to know more as would at least one other commenter. Great videos!
I have used this method for years, but instead of white vinegar, I often use Balsamic Vinegar. It does slightly discolour it, but tastes great! Kris
FOR 3.99 AT BED BATH AND BEYOND I BOUGHT A MICROWAVE POACHER THAT MAKES 2 PERFECTLY POACHED EGSS IN ONE MINUTE!
This was easy to follow and easy to do. Just make sure you have your water at the right temperature or your egg will look really weird like mine.
will try soon
so easy, thanks...Looks great !
great instructions for poching eggs
Can not open the video to see how its done.
I really needed this!
Poached my eggs for breakfast today! Was great! Thanks!
It is very difficult to open your videos. It takes me all most an hour to open up this 2:48 minute one. is there any easier way to so this?
My mom just gave me the vinegar tip! But the size of the pan and swirling water - great help.
I made this this morning and it was great. I usually "fry" my eggs with whipped butter and water, but this way actually did taste better and was excellent with the spinach!
Why season eggs with white pepper only?
um um good!
I am dying to try this!! It looks easy and fun to make ;0)
I made this, this morning. Very good. But no link for spark points? :(
This is a superb breakfast or light supper.
Absolutely great ! and the fact that the directions are written and visual I think is a tremendous benefit!
this is yummy looking!
