The soup looks good. I wish I could see more close-ups of the prep and inside the pot to see what it looks like.
i am looking forward to trying this recipe. Trying to increase my fiber.
I add pureed kidney beans to chili and taco meat. Great way to sneak in that extra protein and fiber! Great way to thicken as well
Video quality is poor. Voice does not match with the voice and jumps all over the place. I had to move the screen up so I could see about half of the video and not both the voice and movement. It was making me sea sick. I wanted to turn it off at first, but found the reciepe of interest to watch
LOVE Taco Soup! It's always a staple in our house when the weather gets cooler. Thank you for the video!
I appreciate these videos so much!! I would never have discovered them if not for the Sparkpoints--I clicked the link to gain extra spark points and found something that has really helped me!! Thanks chef Meg!
I learn so much from these videos. Thanks, Chef Meg!
Looks really great..............would be great for during football games at our house. Good suggestion about the garbanzo beans, and also the lemon/lime juice . Never heard of that one. Can't wait to try.
I wish they would position a camera in the pot. I would probably use green pepper instead of the other peppers in this. I'd like to know about using jalapenos in this too! Looks great. I will try it.
Sounds great. I'm going to try it
Wow this is a great soup! Me and my family loved it! I made it for supper tonight and the were thrilled with it. I used ground turkey instead of ground beef and we could hardly tell the difference. That was really nice. :)
Taco Soup is a staple at our house this is a nice alternative, I always put garbanzo beans in it, but never thought of chopping them up in the food processor first.
This taco soup sounds delicious! I'm going to make it and take it on a camping trip this weekend. Thank you for explaining so many things in the video. If you could get a camera angle to show inside the pan, that would be helpful. Thanks especially for the garbanzo bean and lime juice ideas!
It reminds me more of what we call chili and beans. Every taco soup I have had is thinner in consistency. I love the idea of using homemade taco seasoning, garbanzo beans as a thickener and the lime juice. Enjoyed the video!
Hey! I agree with the comment about looking IN the pot, not looking AT the pot. That is the reason for a video. A chili is chili and soup that contains Mexican spices is Taco soup, which it does not need to be watered down to make it soupie. Everybody's taste is different.
What am I missing here? This looks very familiar. I think it's...Chili! I never tried lime in my chili but it sounds good. I'll try this recipe but I'll call it what it is-chili!
me and my family love taco soup! I'm gonna have to fix it to them this weekend! thanks!
Have this on my menu for this week to try. Sounds great
It looks so delicious I could actually smell it !!
video was great but the printed recipe does not mention the garlic OR the lime juice!!
Authentic Mexican food is definitely not full of fat. It is for the most part FRESH, not as much meat used as Americanized mexican.
Oh man, the name of this dish didn't sound too good, but after watching her make I could almost taste it! I'm going to make this for dinner tonight!
Good Recipe!!! It's a KEEPER.
Add the cheese at the end to make it a cheesy taco soup then put a dollup of sour cream on top when you serve. Looks good!!
Im Sorry but I cook Mexican food all the time and I can assure you, Mexican food is not loaded in fat and calories. It is the Americanized versions that are bad for you.
Looks good....but I never thought of taco's in a soup form.
Wonderful recipe. Can't wait to try it!
Just a reminder to all of us... Be sure to use hand cleaner or wash your hands after handling meat packages... Can't be too careful these days. Great recipe!
This is a great soup for a family sleep over, adding the beans was very innovative , a must try my family love taco
The video & given recipe don't exactly match; also it would be MUCH easier to include the actual new recipe for "taco seasoning", rather than 12 minutes or 3 links later. Please????
really good recipe
Interesting how sodium can be reduced by on the shelf products
I would like the recipe also. We have a very slow computer and I can't watch videos on it. It takes about 10-15 MINUTES per one minute of video for me to upload them! I REALLY would like the recipe, though.
Can we just have the recipe please? Can we just have the recipe please! She is swapping taco seasoning for three spices, and the "View Recipe Listing" button says to use taco seasoning. I want the recipe as she modified it. She talks too much.
going on vca want o take thi with us
All you have to do is click on the View Recipe button just above the video screen.
This recipe sounds good!
Love taco soup! Can't wait to try this variation.
sounds good, but I also do not have time to watch a 12 mn video
This looks yummy and for those who don't like the video then don't watch it click the recipe link in the upper right corner above the video. Thanks for the video and all the low sodium ideas!
Looks good will give it a try
Have to try this one, DH like this chili, will have to try the garbanzo bean trick
Sounds awesome. I can't wait to try it.
Click "View Recipe Listing" to the upper right of the video if you'd like the recipe :)
Agreed - please include the recipe on the page.
Use fresh ingrediants, and your own herbs and spices with NO salt, not pre-packaged seasoning, and this is good.
Great idea to thicken with the chick peas! I love Mexican food. Any healthy Mexican recipes would be appreciated!
Look under view recipe list .It gives you the recipe without the video
Good grief, people! If you don't want to watch a video, DON'T WATCH IT! I for one LOVE these videos! Keep 'em coming, Chef Meg!
GREAT IDEA to use the beans as a thickener. Thanks. J
Looks really good!
This taco soup really isn't soup. It's the exact recipe that I use to make chini con carne, except that I dont put corn in it. Soup should have some liquid in it. But - it is deliciolus.
looks yummy and easy to make, will be trying this soon!
I would rather a printed recipe instead of watching a video.
I THINK I NEED TO GIVE THIS A TRY!
This looks like something I would love to eat!
Looks great. Love the tips to lower sodium!
It would be helpful if Chef Meg would print a recipe along with the video. I don't need a basic cooking lesson, and the video is over 12 minutes long! A recipe would be just fine for me, but I don't think I can make it through the video, I've got other things to do this morning.
Love love taco soup!
It is 3 teaspoons which equals 1 Tablespoon, it was an error, you can also fine taco seasoning recipe at sparkrecipes.com
Hi Chef Meg, I liked your recipe but i'm a vegetarian..Is there any replacement for the meat? Or Can I just omit the meat and cook the rest of recipe as you showed?
Joschef is right about Meg's "professionalism" regarding her hair.
Love the idea of Taco soup but don't have a way to watch a video in my kitchen. I prefer to be able to read the receipe.
Going to try. Looks really good.
This recipe looks to be easy to prepare, healthy and tasty.
I know what I am having for dinner
I use BOCA CRUMBLES when I make tacos/burritos. Only 60 calories a serving and it is DELICIOUS! Reheats well for leftovers too! Here is the nutrition breakdown and there is a coupon on the site too http://bocaburger.com/products/crumbles.aspx?productBox=0
Thanks. Your videos are so Sparker friendly. You help us. Good info on bison
People shouldn't complain so much!
sound good, i will try to try it.
LOOKS GOOD. CAN'T WAIT TO MAKE IT.
Today I made taco soup with vegetarian meat and I made lentil burgers. It was delicious and my company enjoyed it too.
I like the 12 min videos along with the recipes, please continue with them. I think you do a great job. This is a free cite, for those judgementle people if your not happy go else where please. I am very grateful that you care enough to do this. Thank you, and God bless you.
I don't know what chef meant but from experience I would use 3 tablespoons full of chili powder. I am very experience in the kitchen but I don't mind the explanation so those who are not skilled can learn. Otherwise I will try the recipe as soon as I get garbanzo beans. Were they dried or canned?
You are a pro thank you for your teaching video. Looking forward to cooking in the kitchen with your guidence.
I would rather have the beans be whole. I also use Jalepeno to spice it up. But I will use it as a recipe that will work for me.
hmmmm, going to try this!
i am into soup now for loosing some weight, and this is perfect.
I thought this was a good recipe. I used ground turkey instead of beef to keep calories low. Never was a huge fan of ground turkey but I could not even tell the difference! I also like the garbanzo bean idea.. kids had no idea :) We will def make this again.
Liked the video, thans Chef Meg
I'm confused, your video for Taco soup mentions this recipe and stated 1 Tbs chile powder not 1 tsp. I am also wondering where the fat is coming from for the seasoning and also the sodium? thanks. I'm making the soup tonight... yum!
This was not a soup. It was a taco chili. Taco soup that I have tasted in restaurants and homes has lots of broth and no kidney or pinto beans. It does not need a thickener. It also includes avocados.
Hope I can get the recipe, sounds good. Just what I needed to replace the salt. Thanks,If I cant get garbanzo beans would gram flour do instead?
Glad ridding of salt
I love soup in the winter! Will try
I need practice learning to use knives. I found it helpful to watch the way she chopped that garlic using the back or middle of the knife.
