This is one of my fave spark recipes. Could eat it every week & it's easy to dress up with feta, olives, etc. Tastes even better the next day after flavours have a chance to meld. Quarter cup of oil doesn't seem like much considering how many other ingredients are in salad.
Why in the world would you need to add a quarter cup of oil to this recipe?

Where does one get Bulgur? I have never heard of it until now.
Yum yum maybe use Stevia instead of sugar.
Honest to God, I don't recall having ever made/eaten bulgur. I'm going to do this.

I made half with bulgar and the other half with quinoa because I took it to a UU end-of-year barbeque. People loved it both ways!
great salad rely good .if you finedyou put alittle more oilthan you like you might use the kraft italian dressing made with olive oil ,I did it was wonderful and with grilled chicken breast yummmmm
This is going to sound like a commercial, but for an easy way to do all the chopping, I bought a Vidalia Chopper -- it's got a grate that you press down on and it chops or dices veggies in seconds! I love mine, and use it for chopping just about everything. $19 at Bed Bath and Beyond.
Look like I will be making this. I love salad but I have to be careful because of my stomach.
This seems like a great salad, refreshing for the summertime or anytime. I can't wait to try :)

I do love this salad :) I love cucumber, klamata olives, cherry tomato's halved, feta, basil, Myers lemon juice and zest (no sugar), parsley, garlic :) Quinoa is a great substitution for wheat free-ers in this dish
GREAT video! I learned so much. (Who knew salting while cooking instead of afterward toughened lentils?) Thanks for all the tips and demonstrations (like chopping the herbs and choosing which parsley to use for cooking vs garnish). Looking forward to trying this recipe.

Very tasty. Not sure why it needs the extra protien of the chicken. It's good the video told how large the serving is as the recipe does not. Mine made more than 8 servings. Maybe used a different yellow dal; it took a good half hour to cook. Also found it too oily & doubled the lemon juice.
I make a very similar salad with Quinoa or Brown rice and with out the lentils. I want to try this version. I add shelled, steamed edemame for added crunch and protein. Another thing we love with this is adding a little sweet like diced dried cherries, raisins or craisins.
Definitely making this! My vegetarian daughter will LOVE it!
This was such a fun video to watch and I just ate my first recipe of it....it is sooo....yummy! I'm serving it with the roasted chicken recipe tomorrow for a tailgate party. I use roasted pine nuts instead of the walnuts, wonderful flavors and will be even better tomorrow!
very good, I added to the leftovers a can of chicken, black olives, tomato and fat free feta cheese and that was our meal. We loved it.

I love lentils but never knew there that many kinds of lentils. I've tried in different ways but never a salad sounds delicious.

There are more than one yellow lentil. Are we using the moong, the Toor or the yellow split pea kind? BTW all lentils, yellow, pink or red, green, black are known as "Dal" in different parts of India. This is different from the way we eat it, so shall try it.

My hubby doesn't like lentils.
I did make it a few night ago. I could not find bulgur so used barley. I still liked it. Next time I will use the bulgur if I can find it. Yummy, I really did like it. Very fresh tasting.

I love bulgur wheat. And lentils. I think I will try this with some brown lentils. Also I love to eat curly parsley instead of flat, so that will go in. The video was a great inspiration, thanks.

I made this for our family reunion. A double batch with an extra cup of bulgar wheat and substituted celantro for the parsley. Everyone loved it! I will make this again and again! I did use 7 ozs. crumbled feta cheese in the double batch.

I grew up eating lentils. I really like this idea.
The lentils are very tasty if you add fresh ginger and garlic.

to MLILJA; sub for bulgar = QUINOA! very easy and yummy! Ive also made a similar dish to this, using bulgar, bleu cheese, chopped pear and celery, and nuts (pine, walnut...) Very very yummy!
