A low-fat, heart healthy version of this traditional comfort food.
This is a lighter take on the classic Italian preparation of Chicken Cacciatore (or Chicken Hunter Style). Our made-over version uses white meat rather than dark and less oil to cut almost 60 calories per serving and reduce the fat and sodium of the traditional recipe. Submitted by CHEF_MEG
I GOT THE ORIGIONAL RECIPE OFF FOOD NETWORK MELISSA'S SHEPHERD'S PIE. I LIGHTENED IT UP AND REDUCED CARBS AND FAT FOR ME. I ALSO CUT IT IN 1/2 BECAUSE IT'S JUST THE DOGS AND I THRU THE WEEK.
I JUST COPY AND PASTED THE DIRECTIONS BUT THAT WILL BE A LITTLE DIFFERENT BECAUSE I USED PRECOOKED TURKEY BACON AND GROUND TURKEY.Submitted by INDEJAM09
