I want to start making my own breads - without a bread maker. My thought is that if I know what's in them - they're healthier for me and I have the option to make them fully organic. Now - just have to keep from eating the whole loaf cause they're so delicious!

Only 1 egg and very little margarine are used in this low-saturated-fat, low-cholesterol low-sodium bread.
This recipe is for 3 loaves of bread, 2 for the week and one to freeze. It is meant to be made with a stand mixer, but you don't need one. This has more good fat and fiber than most recipes.
This recipe is best for sandwiches, toast, french toast, dinner rolls, and sub rolls (adjust sizes).
This bread is dense, filling and good for you! You can add some wheat gluten to make it rise a little more and make it a little less dense.Submitted by WOMAN15R
You will be hard pressed to find an easier recipe for bread than this one!!! Pretty much any beer will work in this recipe, though i've had fun with beers like Bell's Cherry Stout and Big Sky Brewing's Moose Drool...so don't be afraid to throw in a bottle of your favorite intriguing beer! Just keep in mind, the same rule applies to cooking with beer as applies to cooking with wine: if you wouldn't drink it, don't cook with it!Submitted by DAMIENDUCKS
Grandma a similiar bread when she made all of her other bread. It was delicious hot of the oven with butter and honey on it. I have made it my own recipe by changing some of the ingredients to healthier ingredents. She used half white and half wheat flour. Mine is 100% Wheat and I prefer to grind my own wheat flour but you can just use whole wheat flour.Submitted by KING*GET*FIT
Amazingly easy to make, delicious to eat, and excellent bread for diabtetics! Once the starter is active, you are ready to go. Please note that this is NOT a quick bread recipie - it takes time but is well worth it! *******there are 2 methods listed - both work equally as well.Submitted by LOUNOBLE
Delicious quick bread that can be made completely organic, low fat & whole wheat! I substituted regular flour for whole wheat flour, used skim milk and skim milk cheese and fresh herbs. You can use whatever herbs you like - original recipe called for chives, sage & tarragon, but I also love basil, thyme and oregano.Submitted by KITHKINCAID
I worked for months and months to perfect a whole-wheat pizza dough, and I think I've finally found it. We love it, love it, love it! This makes enough dough for two large pizzas. We normally use one, freeze the other. To use the frozen one, thaw on the counter and then place in off oven on a pizza pan. Pour a recently boiled kettle of water in a roasting pan under the dough and close the oven. The warm, moist air reproofs the frozen dough.Submitted by MIGHTYFINEWINE
