Cherry Pie Lara Bars are one of my favorites, but at almost $1.50 per bar and with the ingredients listed as dates, almonds & unsweetened cherries - I thought to myself...hmmm...couldn't I just make these.....the answer...YES...and here is the recipe. Which by the way saves me 89 cents per bar! WOW!
This recipe is easy to adapt with other dried fruits so feel free to play around with some of your favorite flavors!!! Add unsweetened coconut, a dash of cinnamon or cocoa powder....whatever your healthy heart desires. Enjoy!Submitted by MRSDUDLEY
LARA BARS use a multi-layer package that keeps out UV light and oxygen, which, in turn, maintains freshness without the use of preservatives. I use plain old plastic wrap and my refrigerator, then pop one in my bag when Iím ready to go.Submitted by SCHMIDTANN00
No trans fats, and fat content can be reduced a litttle further. A very effective and much healthier, substitute for that famous baking mix, at a fraction of the price. Store in airtight container, no need to refrigerate if used up within a couple of months. Shake into measuring cup stood on a plate (don't scoop from container or it will compact).
1 cup = c140g. Submitted by SUNNY112358
Grissini are easy to flavor: Add 1 tablespoon finely chopped fresh rosemary to the dough. Or add freshly cracked black pepper, thyme, caraway or other spices or herbs. Or sprinkle the grissini with sea salt or other specialty salt just before baking.Submitted by MICAD09
