Good article - but it sure would be easier to stick to tracking if Spark People would put the tracker back up front when the start page opens. I could do with a few less bare feet on a scales if space is the problem!

Our dietitian says eat to maintain, not lose over the holidays.....have to be realistic. If you feel deprived, you will go nuts in January trying to sooth yourself. Overeating is mental.

Good suggestions. Sum it up as keep doing what you have been doing to lose. Prepare for it. Be forgiving but don't make excuses. Do a little more exercise. Avoid if have, too. I am not going to work party. I need to avoid salt also. Better for me to stay away.

One month anniversary on SP today and I've lost 6 lbs. And that's getting by the Thanksgiving hurdle. I find that tracking all my meals and snacks keeps me in line. Lots of good tips in this article. Will put into practice.

Good suggestions. The only problem is tracking unusual foods. If they're not on the SparkPeople Nutrition Tracker, you have to go looking on another site, or guesstimate the number of calories without putting them into the tracker.

The idea of re-gifting baked goods at a homeless shelter is fantastic. While the homeless do need good, healthy food, they also need a jolt of holiday spirit and Christmas cookies just might fill the bill. Happy Holidays to ALL!!!
