My Bariatric Cookbook
26 Recipes Created by ALLETRON
I had VSG on August 24, 2015. This is a collection of all of the best recipes I could find here that are good for bariatric patients. I am restricted to 600cal/day with 60-70g protein, so all of these recipes are low cal, high protein.
Recipes in this Collection
Just one serving of this creamy soup contains 1 serving of vegetables, 1 serving of milk, 4 grams of fiber, 17 grams of protein, and more than a day's supply of Vitamin C. One serving equals just 2 Weight Watcher's points. It can also be made to fit a Zone 40-30-30 diet plan*.Submitted by ELMNOP
This is only for Lap-Banders who are at the stage where they can tolerate ground beef if it is well-chewed. It has a higher beef to other ingredients ratio to it than chili normally would.Submitted by HEALTHYLIVN4ME

Makes a wonderful think Hot Chocolate with the extra protein you need in a bariatric diet!
I received my Lap-band on 5/19/2008. I created this recipe especialy for people who have had bariatric surgery, particularly Lap-band, but it is healthy for anyone to eat.
This is very quick-to-fix. It makes a large and very filling entrée for lunch or supper. If you have had bariatric surgery, cut it in half and save the other half for the next day or a snack later the same day (if your family doesn't gobble it up first)!
Remember to take small bites and chew each bite at least 25 times before swallowing!Submitted by HEALTHYLIVN4ME
A turkey meatball stuffed with cheese. One meatball makes a part of a tasty meal. This little meatball is bariatric friendly and can serve as full meal for a gastric bypass recipient.Submitted by MDSLOAN2000
