Sandwiches so good, you'll think someone brought home takeout from your neighborhood deli!Submitted by CHEF_MEG
Coal miners in the Midwest would take these for their lunch. They keep warm rather long wrapped in a towel. Some housewives would stuff one end with a savory filling, and the other with a sweet one. That way you could have your dessert with your dinner! For a true coal miner meal experience, be sure to roughly chop the potatoes.Submitted by FOXYLADYOHYA21
I just made this today, however none left to take a photo, sorry. Some of the ingredients you might want to play with, like seasons and bread crumbs (that is a fairly good guess). You do want one egg and at least one can of soup and one half cup bread crumbs per pound. I use garlic powder, onion powder, salt and pepper for seasoning. My kids and their friends love it. Usually have to make a double or triple batch, depend on how many of my boy's friend find out I am cooking it. It is a great way to get the veggies in them without a fight! Yes, you do not see ketchup in this recipe, any of them who want that add it after dished up. Never got a complaint with this, lots of 'its so good!' This recipe has been in the family for at least 4 generations!!! It is flavorful without ketchup, moist, healthy, and really good!!!Submitted by CRYSTAL050203

I saw a not as healthy version of Steak Frites, the French dish, on America's Test Kitchen. I decided to make a healthier version by skipping the butter, choosing top round steak over ribeye steak, grilling instead of frying, dressing the greens with red wine vinegar instead of regular salad dressing, using sweet potatoes instead of white potatoes for more fiber and nutrients, and baking with parchment paper and cinnamon instead of frying with peanut oil and cornstarch.
