I altered Levelyn03's recipe a bit because I wanted the sea scallops seared rather than sauteed and I preferred olive oil to butter. Also, there wasn't enough sauce so I added more lemon juice and a bit of chicken broth. And because I am a maniac for anything lemon I also added some lemon zest. My husband never liked scallops and he really liked this dish. I also cut it down to 2 servings because that's all I cook for. Great job LEVELYN03! Submitted by CELLE98
A made from scratch teriyaki sauce that is great for stir-fry, grilling, crock pot cooking and anything else you may want to use it for. Garlic and ginger powder may be substituted for fresh but fresh garlic and ginger give this sauce a better flavor. You may also want to experiment with adding pineapple or orange juice.Submitted by APRILIA_RIDER
This recipe comes from Cooking Light. I don't flour my scallops, like the original recipes says to. Instead, I make sure that my scallops are competely dry and that my pan is HOT to get the sear. It's simple, and the balsamic gives a great flavor. I like to substitute tarragon as my herb, but choose what you like. I like to serve with haricot verts or seared spinach in garlic oil.
