I can't have gluten, and I was having getting enougg protein and carbs for breakfast. I threw this together, similar oatmeal. I had made amaranth in this way, and liked the seasonings. but I am not a big fan of amaranthSubmitted by THATHEATHERGIRL
Warning: must love garlic.
This dish serves 1, but can easily be modified to serve more.
Some Soba noodles are gluten-free (check package). They are made from buckwheat and metabolize much more slowly than most carbohydrates, which makes them ideal for diabetics and health-conscious individuals. You can pick them up at your local japanese market or health food store.
If you don't have any chicken leftovers on hand, Marinate chicken breast tenderloins or sliced breasts in some sesame oil, chopped up garlic, sake or rice vinegar, sugar, salt and pepper for 4-24 hours. Cook in nonstick skillet.. adding a bit of soy sauce and sake/wine halfway through the cooking.
This sauce can be used on any noodles with just about any vegetables you like. Enjoy :)Submitted by VALKYRIA-
Yay. Beans again... well, sometimes I think that but not often. I mean, I really love beans and am absolutely fine with eating them often. It's just that I typically don't get excited about a new flavor or experiment when cooking black beans. I usually am satisfied and pleased with my traditional method. But, I recently found a recipe online and thought, hmmm, I can make that work and got excited once again about the fabulous black bean!Submitted by S_PRESS
DELICIOUS, easy, and now only 214 calories per serving!! This is my modification of a Chicken Tikka Masala recipe on this site. It sounded great, but I wanted to use less oil, didn't want to buy garam masala (when I had the ingredients for it on hand already), added a missing ingredient into the calorie count, and reduced the serving size. Still very yummy! Submitted by YIYEHTOV
