A cooling salad for those hot summer daysSubmitted by RUGBY1212
Indian lentil dish. You can eat it with rice and optional vegetables, but I also like to eat a double portion of it without anything, or with extra water and some bread served along with it making a soup for lunch.Submitted by ARRHETOS_KORE
A one pot, complete, nutritious meal. So easy and quick to make and easy to dress up with a salad, fresh yogurt, chutney... very filling, balanced, and delicious.Submitted by JOCELYNE_M
This smoothie is loaded with antioxidants!
This quick and healthy side dish takes just minutes to prepare! And as a bonus, it's an easy way to get the kids to eat their vegetables. (And if you don't like using butter spray, you could melt a few pats of butter and brush the butter on with a pastry brush - whatever your preference!)Submitted by MATCM81
This is an easy, healthy lentil soup. I listed he grams I used along with the measurements but the calories are calculated using the grams. This makes about 3 litres or so depending on how much water cooks down etc. The 12 sevings are equal to 1 cup or 250 ml.
The spices I used can be varried and you can add different ones as you like. I sometimes add more spices while it is cooking and we like a bit of heat so I add some chilli flakesas well. Some people leave out the cinnemon but it is traditional to use it. You can use some chopped celery as well when you are cooking the onions.
This is a soup so you don't need to use the exact amounts of ingredients listed.
Soup makes a great snack in between meals for about 100 cals per cup! Lentils are very filling and have lots of fiber.
