This chili is wonderful - tender meat, smoky flavor, and can be made even on a weeknight.
NOTE; Chipotle chilis are a necessary ingredient that wasn't in the database. You don't need much though so I don't think the calories would be impacted by more then 5 per serving. Chipotle chilis are sold in a small can and are usually available in the Mexican or International section of a good supermarket.
Serve this chili over brown rice.Submitted by FIGHTINGINERTIA
Cookbook creator says: Delicious. It has a very rich, meaty flavor and great texture. I ate it without pasta, but obviously it would be great over pasta. I would DEFINITELY make it again. It surely could be made with very lean ground beef, and I think it would still be good - - but the bison was wonderful.

Cookbook creator says: very good and easy. I love mexican but my husband hates rice, which is the usual accompaniement for Mexican dishes. This recipe uses potatoes instead. I did add peppers to my packs (I tried to add extra veggies to recipes when I can).

Cookbook creator says: Very good and so easy to make. I added some olive oil to the pasta because the brats and peppers didn't create a lot of juice and I didn't want the pasta to be dry. My kids ate around the peppers and liked it too.

Cookbook creator says: I also tried the Thai Basil Chicken (4 stars) which was very good if you like spicy. You can, of course, cut down on the number of peppers you use. I also noticed that they have a couple of varieties of this recipe to try.

Cookbook creator says: On the salad, omit blue cheese, dried cranberries, walnuts, and grapes. Instead use 1/4 cup reduced fat feta.
Salad dressing, add 1/4 tsp paprika and 1/4 teaspoon dried mustard to other ingredients.
94 calories per serving vs. 48 calories per serving. 1 cup of salad and 1 tsp of cheese.

Cookbook creator says: 5 stars. It was absolutely amazing. They also have oatmeal so there is fiber, and the calorie content isn't too high considering there is chocolate in it. I recommend this recipe for a low fat sweet treat.Submitted by SBMMYERS
Cookbook creator says: 5 stars. They are absolutely delicious. I can eat 2 in the morning, as per my tracker, and they keep me full until my mid-morning break, which is just what I need. I haven't tried adding raisins or nuts to them, which is an option in the recipe, but I think I'm going to next time I bake some.

Cookbook creator says: A little higher in fat than I normallly have for a meal, but I used center cut bacon and cut back a little of the olive oil. Typical for me - I added mushrooms - always adding veggies. It was delicious and my husband liked it too. I will definately make this againSubmitted by AKAYCAT
