This is an adaptation of an excellent Spark low-fat chocolate cake recipe. I wanted to make it sugar free as well as low fat to shave off some calories. It's about half of the calories of the cake made with sugar.
Applesauce makes this cake healthier than your regular cake.
Remember how delicious Mom's brownies were? You can duplicate the taste for a fraction of the fat if you substitute cocoa for bittersweet chocolate and use applesauce in place of some of the butter or oil. Submitted by DARBYMERRIMAN
