High Protein Oatmeal With Fruit

This is a very healthy and tasty way to serve oatmeal that has the ability to be customized with the added fruit, spices and sweetener to adjust it for different tastes and create a new flavor every day. It stays with me longer than any other breakfast I eat.

I developed this so I could have oatmeal a lot to help my cholesterol and still get fiber and lots of protein without a lot of calories and not out of bounds for healthy carb consumption.

It makes an oatmeal that is thick enough to add milk if you desire, but is a great consistency for eating alone. If you like thin oatmeal, add more water.Submitted by BEACHSEASTAR

Yummy Slow Cooker Oatmeal with Fruit

You can assemble it in the slow cooker in the evening and wake up to a bowl of hot, nourishing oatmeal. It is important to use steel-cut oats; old-fashioned oats become too soft during slow-cooking.Submitted by CAZLINR

BAKED OATMEAL WITH FRUIT-recipe from Annie's Eats

Three reasons why I love this recipe and you will too: 1. It is quick and easy to prep, 2. Itís healthy, 3. It is very easily adapted to suit whatever fruits are in season and what you have on hand. I have made it so far with the original combination of bananas and blueberries as well as peaches with raspberries, nectarines with blackberries, and most recently with apples and cranberries. The natural sweetness of the fruit as well as a bit of maple syrup is all this really needs to be a tasty and satisfying breakfast, and it reheats well as leftovers on subsequent days. I do add an extra sprinkle of cinnamon sugar to the apple and cranberry version to offset the tartness of the berries. You can also use different types of nuts depending on what you have around or what you prefer. Iím thinking a summer version with cherries, apricots and almonds could be pretty great. Oatmeal Fruit Cake

A healthy mixture of fruit and oatmeal mixed with honey - not too sweet and a bit tart from the blueberries. This is a dense cake, meant to be filling not light and fluffy.Submitted by EWM777

Apple-Cinnamon Slow Cooker Oatmeal

Start the day off right with sweet and creamy slow cooker oats for breakfast. The evaporated milk adds such creaminess that you'll think you're having pudding for breakfast. Submitted by CHEF_MEG
