Low Calorie Seasoned Breadcrumbs
While looking for a way to stop wasting the heels of my bread that I always seemed to throw away, my mother in law gave me the idea of making my own bread crumbs.
This is a tried and true method, at least for me and my family (and my oven!). The spices here are my favorite combination, though I've tried others.
A common mixture for seasoned breadcrumbs includes the typical "Italian" seasonings (oregano, rosemary, thyme, basil, marjoram and the like), or your favorite Mrs. Dash seasoning.
