Dog Food Recipes

My Cavelier King Charles Spaniel has a sensitive stomach so the vet. recomended I make her dog food..this is the recipe we came up with and I was curious how the nutrition compared to store bought dog food so I added it here....I am not actually eating this LOL

This recipes is my what I make fir my shiba inu. Serving size is 1-2 cups per day

This is one of the foods I make for my 23 lb 15 yr old dog. He eats two servings a day mixed with warm water. Does really well on this.

The original recipe calls for White rice, which would make this a little drier - water can be added to the bowl to make it more palatable if needed. Once complete it will be a thick wet 'dog food' like consistency. My dog seemed to really like it! I did not drain the fat out of the meat so that the food still has a decent fat content. Feed according to this chart. 1/2 Cup = .25 Lb.:
• 5 lbs 1/4 pound
• 10 lbs 1/2 pound
• 20 lbs 1 pound
• 40 lbs 1 1/2 pound
• 60 lbs 2 pounds - approximately two cups
• 80 lbs 2 1/2 pound
• 100 lbs 3 pounds

I've decided to make my own dog food because of all the bad stuff that is going into store bought stuff. As u will see, it is all human grade. To tell u the truth, with the addition of alittle salt, it isn't all that bad. My babies deserve better, so it's well worth it to me to know what is in their food.

Another try at the recipe...I think it is much better this time...there is also extra vitamins and minerals yet to be added to give my boys the proper nutrition. Will add when I figure that out totally.

dogs need approx. 1 gram of protein per pound and approx. 200 cal. per 10 pounds of healthy body weight. this is a gluten, dairy and beef free dog food product.
