Okay, it isn't really a cake. It is a luscious, decadent twice baked Japanese confection make of sweet potato, butter, cream and honey.
Meatloaf - 'nuf said. Serve with gravy and mashed potatoes or noodles. And a vegetable, of course.
Not barbecue as in shrimp-on-the-barbie. This is shrimp sauteed in butter and served in a spicy broth.
My own variation on chili with kidney beans and lean ground beef. If I have some in the freezer, I will substitute my own tomato puree for the canned crushed tomatoes and omit the tomato paste.
Bisquick pancakes made with regular Bisquick, 2% milk and an egg
Chicken breast breaded with Parmesan cheese and bread crumbs, then sauteed in butter and olive oil with garlic.
Traditional flan made a little lighter with 2% milk. I don't recommend skim milk because the custard does not set properly. You can use individual custard cups or a two quart casserole dish. Best made a day ahead of time.
Chicken pot pie with a sour cream and Bisquick top crust
Italian meatballs just like grandma used to make. I use half pork and half beef to keep them moist and tender, but you can use all beef if you prefer.
