This is a basic recipe that affords many additions for variety i.e. chocolate chips, maraschino cherries, nuts too name a few...calorie count is for basic only
Adapted from All recipes I included the half and half full fat but many lower fat substitutions are available. I also use chicken bouillon but 4 cups of chicken broth were in the original recipe.
I was looking for a healthy, but dense soup bread for my fall light dinners. It didn't rise as much as I like however it is dense without being dry and slices thin while still able to hold lots of sandwich ingredients without breakage, not to mention dunking in stews and soups, just what I was looking for.
I hybridized this from another spark recipe with ingredients on hand
I looked for a similiar recipe and couldn't find one. This is quick easy and more than comfoting on a cold winter day. Add dumplings, rice, or noodles if you want a hearty more stew like disch.
This can go into your bread machine but I like to just use the dough cycle, then finish in the oven
Easy, delicious and great for take to work sandwiches
Leave out the sugar and crust for a delicious low calorie treat!

I loved Pats recipe but came up with this variation I thought I would share

extra lean ground beef can be sub'd for the elk and ground turkey for the chicken

This is a light honey sweetened loaf from your bread machine.
i list frozen strawberries but 3 cups of any fruit will work
Simple but satisfying. I add alot of ice cubes so mine usually gives 3 servings but add less and it is richer and frothier
