Egg Bites Recipe Cracked

I've been trying to find a recipe for creamy egg bites that does not require the use of a pressure pot. None of the baking methods I have found will freeze well. When you try to reheat them they come out spongey. Well after some thought and a little experiment I finally cracked the secret to creamy, moist egg bites. The trick is steaming them, not baking. You will still need silicone cupcake molds, not muffing trays.

French Press Latte

I absolutely love Vanilla Lattes. But a starbucks latte is expensive- $3+ dollars for a tall is too much. I've decided on a simpler method- French Press latte with a flavoured protein powder. Now you're probably saying "Protein powder isnt cheap either". But when you consider how many servings come out of one container of protein powder, per serving a protein powder french press is far cheaper than starbucks or extract. This doesnt take more than 3 minutes to put together and let set over night. Compare that to the 15 min you will need in a coffee shop to wait in line, and then wait for you coffee to come out. Thank you french press.

Mom's Chilaquiles

If you're unfamiliar with Chilaquiles; it's a mexican dish with similar to nachos but is prepared a little bit differently. I describe it as a cross between nachos and lasagna. Not because it has anything to do with Italian flavors though. Think of the way lasagna is prepared- sheets of pasta layered with filling and sauces in between. Chilaquiles is similar, but instead of using pasta sheets you're using layers of tortilla chips. It's a great recipe to whip up on the weekends when you're trying to clear out your fridge. If you have smaller amounts of foods leftover- ones that cannot provide a full portion, throw them into this dish so they will not go to waste. I'm very much a believer in making sure that no food gets trashed. Whether it's leftovers, composting, or something else. That's beside the point here though. Now let's get cooking.
