Plain stir fry that can be adapted to clear out whatever veggies are in your fridge. 1 tsp basil is a pretty strong flavor; if not to your taste, cut it in half.
Inspired by lunch bought at a grocery store, this is a combo that I threw together out of a bunch of my favorite stuff. I measured in grams, so other measurements are approximate.
This made 71.5 ounces. I listed it as 1 serving, so what was eaten would be the amount taken divided by 63.5
Working Spaghetti squash and mushrooms into a casserole even kids will like
This crustless quiche can be saved for a few days and eaten for breakfast. It is a keto recipe, so it's deliberately high fat, but it is sugarfree, gluten-free, and reasonably low calorie.
Yummy easy fast filling breakfast -
This is a favorite at our house. If you chop the ingredients in advance, it's quite quick, too.
Easy homemade alternative when you forget to pick up a can of sauce.
I "invented" this recipe one day when I was going to make turkey enchiladas but discovered that my frozen leftover turkey was, in fact, pulled pork. A few adjustments to the recipe, and some improvised homemade red sauce, and a new family favorite was born.
Found this recipe at the grocery store. It's quick, easy, low cal, and delicious!
This gives a yummy alternative to commercial energy bars. It's a bit high in fat, but they are healthy fats, and it makes a great snack while hiking or biking.
This is actually "the ultimate spinach" but since you need the steak drippings to make it, we may as well turn it into a whole meal! :-) This meal is very high in iron and protein.
I made this recipe as an "experiment" after I had a tooth pulled. It came out so well that I will definitely make it again!
Your prep time will be shorter if you buy cooked and detailed cocktail shrimp.
Note: I did not sautee the onion, but just ground it up in the food processor with the shrimp. It was fine, but the onion was a little crunchy and I think it will be better sauteed.
Questioning all my friends on how to cook turnips led me to this recipe. You better believe I'll be buying turnips again! Yum!!
This is not the lowest calorie recipe in the world. To save some of the calories, you can not eat much of the sauce. It is really good over noodles or rice though. ;-)
These are kind of high caloric as side dishes go, but they are reeeeealllly yummy, so I think that they're worth it. Diced ham would work just as well as Canadian Bacon. You can add more meat to them, and have one as a meal.
This recipe comes from a package of Dannon Light & Fit Yogurt.
This is a great way to use leftover ham!
This would be even better with a thin whole wheat crust, but we used what we had.
Spicy low cal low fat cheese sauce. Strong enough to even cover the taste of cauliflower, which is a necessity in our house.
Our favorite sauce, made low calorie by using Splenda instead of sugar.
This is one of our favorite fish recipes.
An old favorite, made a bit healthier with low fat ingredients.
A very low calorie mixture to serve with rice.
A cream based sauce with shrimp, for eating over fish or pasta.
The weather is due to get cooler soon, and this is a wonderful hearty soup to have as a meal.
I made this up as I went one day, to use up some mushrooms before they went bad.
Lower sodium version of rice mixes.
This is good served with corn and black bean salsa.
A non-yogurt smoothie with no added sugar. Frozen banana takes the place of ice, so it's not watered down. Really yummy.
This is no way kung pao, but it was given to me with that name, and I don't recognize it any other way. It's quick and yummy.
A low calorie custard to spoon over fresh fruit.
This marinated flat iron steak recipe is soooo yummy. As tender as a filet, but without the price tag.
(Note that the calorie count is somewhat inflated, since most of the marinade gets thrown away, rather than consumed.)
