A slightly spicy stewed cabbage recipe.
A traditional Jamaican dish.
Rich, creamy, smooth and delicious. Keeps you going all morning long!! Of note, this smoothie NEEDS to chill in the fridge to allow the oats and the chia seeds to thicken it up.
I make it the night before and store in a mason jar in the fridge until morning.
Original recipie also includes 1 cup of fresh cherries and fresh chopped mint - neither of which were available the first time I made this and we loved it without them. :)
This is an adaptation of a recipe from Stephanie Gallagher. I originally made it butternut squash and it was wonderful. Don't happen to have squash right now so making without.
Served with brown rice, green beans and dinner rolls, this is one meal that never misses the mark. My kids AND husband agree this is a keeper.
From the American Heart Assoc Low-fat, low cholesterol cookbook.
From Tyler Florence - the View
My adaptation of a recipe found in a Southern Living Cookbook years ago.
It's not low in much of anything but it is really high in comfort.
This recipe is from the Biggest Loser Family Cookbook. One of my kids loved it, the other doesn't do squash. :)
This is a recipe adapted from Recipetips.com. The original used chicken and jalapeno peppers but since I can't get those right now, I substituted 2 habaneros and 1 pablano and we like it better. I also used a salt substitute to reduce the sodium.
