This is a very large recipe...you know, for a party or just to make your daily snack for the whole month. I call this best-seller because it was the hot item in our little seminary store! I would make about 3 batches for the whole semester (there were less than 30 students). Oooo-k, enough chattering here.
Quick, tasty & nutritious, this is a light meal in itself or make it a snack by using just 1 slice of bread.
Originally a Brazilian recipe called Bolo Noite de Natal, but very similar to the traditional American one. I gave it a few healthy tweaks (believe it or not!) and, of course, you can add the kinds & amounts of fruits & nuts you like best. Less butter, sugar, eggs, etc can also be used-depending on your taste, dietary needs & opinion.
This is not a last minute type of dessert to make. It's a fruitcake which requires a bit of time & loving dedication to make, but which just may become one of your favorite Christmas traditions for years to come!
Rich in flavor & nutrients, these are adapted from a recipe originally called "disappearing cookies". Very approriate name! These servings are large cookies. Soooo tasty & good for you! Check out the nutritional value.
Yummy & healthy...what more can you want? These can be made into cookies or muffins.
A great breakfast or light supper food. Add extras if you wish, like raisins, coconut, nuts, etc. Eat plain or with milk.
The original recipe had 1/2 cup oil, 1 cup sugar and 2 eggs, so the calories & fat have been greatly decreased.
Make it chocolate oatmeal by adding 1/4 cup of unsweetened dry cocoa to the mixture!
This is basically a pizza dough recipe but with some major, yummy additions and substitutions! You can decrease the amount of white flour by adding more whole wheat or other whole grain flours to equal about 4 1/2 cps total.
Lightly sweetened, no white flour/sugar. Fat content can be lowered by using applesauce instead of oil.
