A filling but low-fat, and light meal of vegetables, grains and miso broth. I haven't used miso mery much so this is probably very non-traditional, but it hit the spot.

Apple Crisp

My favorite fall dessert. The Topping is easy to make (see recipe titled "crisp topping") and keep in the freezer, prepare the apple and top with crip topping, pop in the oven and your done! (Be sure to add the salt, it makes all the flavors pop!)

Increadibly rich & decadant homemade ice cream. A little goes a long way.

This is adapted from the recipe used for the movie Ratatouille, from Thomas Keller's "The French Laundry" cookbook

Shrimp with Fresh Basil

Thai stirfry, classically made with chicken

Spicy Peanut Sauce (2 T per serving)

The perfect sauce for dipping grilled chicken, or for tossing with noodles and veg for a peanut noodle salad

Corn, Avocado & Tomato Salad

Can be a dip with chips, or a side salad. Is best when summer veggies are at their peak!

Quinoa Salad - 3/4 cup serving

Kind of like tabbouleh, but with quinoa, and a vinaigrette dressing


I have taken into account that about 1/4 cup of oil gets absorbed into these fritters when frying.

Whole Wheat Yogurt Pancakes

I cut down the recipe to make a smaller batch of small pancakes, and substituted yogurt for the usual buttermilk. Makes a really tender pancake.

Onion Pachadi (raita) - 1/3 cup serving

Adapted from Suvir Saran's "Indian Home Cooking", this is a yogurt condiment to help cool the palate with spicy foods

Saag Kofte (made with chicken)

A versatile Indian dish that goes great with pasta, rice or bread, and has lots of great veggies!
