This is from my friend Charlotte's description of her favorite home made pizza.
A friend used to make the high fat version of this soup for me. She is no longer with us and I won't be either if I don't defat this one. So here is my version of Jean's Bean Soup
A friend, whose taste I trust, brought this recipe to me. I have modified the original by adding the sugar and more squash. The sugar mellows the tomatoes and the squash makes the serving substantial.
