These are so yummy whether plain, with frosting, or with ice cream (not in the calorie count). You can use any fresh or frozen fruit. I plan to try strawberries the next time.
You can mix up the filling, keep in the frig, and then make only the amount of egg rolls you need. That way you are not tempted to eat too many (they are so good you will want too). This can be made with any meat or just veggies alone.
This is really good with a nice piece of cornbread.
This cake has been a holiday tradition for my family for as long as I can remember. One bite brings back all my childhood memories of Christmas. Hope it will become a tradition in your house as well. I make one with nuts and one without (for those that do not like nuts).
I have lightened up one of my mom's staple recipes by using light mayo. You can lighten it up further by using a sugar substitute if you like the taste. Just add to a bag of pre-packaged shredded cabbage and you have a quick and easy slaw. Everyone that tastes it seems to like it.
Mom made used to make these when the cabbage was ready in the garden. I put the rolls back into the pan beforie pouring the tomato paste on them. I then put them back in the oven for 15 more minutes.
