Recipes I've Shared:
I used HOME MADE Turkey sausage that I made from scratch but no clue how to use that for nutrition information
Adding this recipe was very difficult due to the ingredients missing from the SparkPeople data base and what I had to substitute. The ingredients I actually USED ARE IN CAPITALS, the nutrition information matches what I HAD to add from the database here. I use sugar free, low sodium items that I could NOT find, so if the sodium amount looks high, it's because of what was in the database.
I added this mostly for myself for nutrition calculation, this isn't for everyone, the sauce is a little bitter/sour tasting. The original recipe called for cucumbers and the sauce only but I wanted a little more.
Greek yogurt topped with fruit, bran flakes and pistachios
This recipe comes from that enthusiastic exercise guy from TV.
I was a VERY BAD person and used white flour, sugar, salt and real egg whites and yolks, but for you hardcore anti white flour, no sugar, so salt people, substitute whatever. Use whatever fruit you like. I used this recipe in my Belgian Waffle Maker and not a regular waffle maker and they were oh so good!
Check for the Cinnamon Yogurt Creme recipe that goes with this recipe.
Just a simple recipe for broiled tomatoes. Can be used for breakfast or any time, any meal.
This is a different take on Hummus. Can be a dip, or side. The recipe calls for Ritz Crackers but you can substitute Pita bread. Neither the crackers of pita bread is figured into the recipe. I used plain, home made hummus but you can use whatever flavor you like.
This is a basic recipe, I added tuna, cucumber and extra spinach.
This is a great recipe.
A throw together dinner can be either a main dish salad or a side dish. You can add any vegetables that sound good
This is based on a Richard Simmons breakfast recipe.
A combination of recipes found on Pinterest I also added 1 TBS lipton onion soup mix but I could not find plain onion soup mix in the database
I have to cook my onions first before adding them to any soups, stews, casseroles etc, if not they will turn sour when cooking.
Yummy dessert. You can substitute several ingredients to make yours special!
A lot of the original items used in this recipe is NOT in the Spark ingredient database!
Not hard to make, you can add whatever extra spices you wish. Serve with Creamy Dill Sauce recipe
This is my new go-to sauce for fish
I saw this recipe and modified it a bit. It's ok but not something I would eat on a regular basis.
Use whatever cheese you like and use herbs and spices to suit YOUR taste.
Yummy side or main dish. Called for garlic salt but I use whole fresh garlic, I also add cilantro.
The recipe called for 2 cups cooked rice but I do not like to add it to the recipe but serve it on the side in case someone does not want rice.
This calls for Draining and reserving the juice from a can of Bush's Black beans, I drain and rinse the beans but add water in place of the bean juice
This is a slower cooker recipe and it is so very tender and juicy.
NOTE: ADD 1 teaspoon DRY MUSTARD WHICH IS NOT IN THE SPARK DATA BASE
Says to serve with cornbread or Mashed potatoes but goes better with noodles.
This is a variation of a recipe from Stonewall Kitchens Roasted Apple Chicken Salad. I did not have the sauce it called for which really makes the salad taste better. I also added the FRESH mandarin orange on my own. It's not too bad but kind of bland.
A different take on Chicken Pot Pie. Great comfort food, This is made from SCRATCH, NOT from cans, tubes, boxes, packages of junk that I found on the other Spark recipes. The crust is so flakey and good. It says to cook it in a cast iron skillet but the amount I ended up with made 2 - 8 inch pies + 2 more servings! You can add different vegetables if desired.
This recipe calls for Herbs de Province and kosher salt which is not listed in the Spark Database. I also used fat free HOME MADE FROM SCRATCH chicken stock.
If you use low sodium soy sauce, and sodium free/low sodium chicken broth in this recipe, the sodium count will NOT be as high as it shows. I only use home made chicken broth with absoultely no sodium except what is in the chicken itself. I also like mine a little bit on the spicy side so you can omit the chili peppers if you like.
This is really good, the spinach and chicken tastes really good together. I used fresh spinach not frozen. My husband said this was a keeper.

You can add walnuts, almonds, or pecans if desired.
I added dried cranberries to mine.
The recipe called for 1/4 cup soy milk powder and 2 3/4 cups hot water but I can't use soy products so I used the 2% milk and water.
This may sound bad but it's really good. You may need to adjust the spicy-ness to suit your taste and make sure you use low fat/low sodium products.
I did not have the bouquet garni which calls for Fresh thyme, rosemary and bayleaf so I had to guesstimate.
From scratch creamy chicken. You can serve this over noodles
A good Vegetarian dish, probably can add curry powder to make it spicy.
