Excellent summer side dish or serve as a dessert with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
These are worth the effort. One of these fresh out of the oven and a glass of ice-cold milk and you're set!
Note: This dough always seems too wet, but it comes out perfectly every time, so don't worry if you can't cut the uncooked dough with a knife as the instructions indicate.
This one is a regular on my family's menu. It's pretty quick, and even the picky eaters like it. The raisins and lemon juice go surprisingly well together.
My dad is from South Carolina and loves this dish. He always asks me to make it for him. It's a side dish, but it's good enough to serve for dessert. Last time I left the butter out altogether and this was still fabulous.
This is one of our favorite just-throw-it-together dinners. Great when it's warm out. Very refreshing
I found this recipe in the food section of the newspaper recently. It's one of my new favorites. It is supposed to be inspired by Tahiti. We serve the eggplant over couscous cooked in vegetable broth. Even my kids like it!
