under 400 calories cheddar and broccoi soup home made
This is a really tasty and easy to make Whole Wheat Bread with some extra fibre added.
This is a natural fruit only Laxative that also happens to taste great on toast!! A serving is 1 tbsp and you can spread it on toast, eat it by itself or mix it into oatmeal, cereal or yogurt (with yogurt it makes a tasty fruit dip). Its also a nice ice cream topper.
You can add any toppings to this you like. This version is Ham and pineapple dressed up.
These are really good for a special breakfast. Serve with a thick slice of grilled tomato and an egg for a special treat.
This recipe makes a lot! easily cut in half or it freezes well. This version is also less sweet than the original recipe. If you want the original use bacon and add 1/2 cup brown sugar to the liquid.
This is my version of French Toast and its yummy. You can decrease the calorie count by substituting skim milk (I use 1%), using 1 egg and 4 egg whites, using splenda or other low calorie sweetener in place of the sugar, and using no sugar added pancake syrup (E.D. Smith makes a good one). I've put the lower calorie choices in brackets behind the original ingredients.
The original version has 500 calories per serving (2 pieces) if you use all the substitutions for lower calorie version it brings it down to 194. o yes you can still have French Toast!!
Really yummy way to serve pasta. This is the long slow version, read farther down if you want suggestions for doing this in a crock pot or quick make.
If you use the fresh mushrooms don't add them till the last 15-20 mins cooking time.
I use chicken thighs her because its what I usually have on hand. You can use chicken breast or a whole small chicken if you like. Just make sure its cut up into smalish pieces. Leave the bones in till you are ready to serve as they add lots of flavour.
To make in a crock pot, brown the chicken in a pan. Use 2 packets of chicken bullion powder or 2 cubes and add only 1/4 cup water to dissolve them in. Put everything in the crock pot and cook on med for 8 hours or high for about 6.
To make this quicker again add less water and use the bouillon cubes or powder. Brown everything a little more and cook over medium heat just until done. This still tastes great, but is better the second day.
This is my version with slightly less calories than the original. If you want to make the original use butter or bacon fat to brown the onion first, then use a can of plums in place of the apples. This is amazing with pork and even better the next day. It freezes well so don't be afraid to make lots and freeze some for later.
This is my recipe to make a two serving sheppards pie. Easily doubled or more for whole family.
This is for 2 servings
Really good, looks fancy too. Serve up in fancy glass with the topping on top and a curl of lemon zest for garnish. This can be done with any berry you like or a wonderful colorful mix. Use fresh or frozen berries.
This is a quick and easy side dish for under 200 calories that you can serve with meat or add beans in for a complete meal. Its really yummy and easy to make and WAY less fat than the original!!
Great way to do quick shrimp for over rice or salad. This is a single serving, just multiply everything but the oil (use max of 1 tbsp oil for larger amounts) by the number of people you have. It cooks up just as quickly for 6 as it does for one.
This is the full fat recipe. Reduce calories and fat by using non stick spray instead of oil and egg whites or eggbeaters in place of whole eggs. Lite cheese works well in this one too.
These are a different version of Pancakes, would make a terrific base for a dessert as well. This Recipe is for 2
Great very versatile, always tastes good recipe. You can use a mix of any vegetables you wish. The base is Potatoes, carrots and onions, then add any other root or solid veggies you like. Any veggie you would roast in the oven. This is a recipe for two, but can easily be made for a whole family, just increase the amounts of veggies or add more varities. Have about 2 cups mixed veggies for each person and 1 chicken thigh for each person.
Simple very yummy fried rice. It can be endlessly customized. Use your favorite mix of veggies, use chicken, beef or pork instead, or even tofu and veggie stock for a vegetarian version. Have fun with it.
Really good pancakes and so easy to make from scratch. Use whole wheat flour or 1/2 oat flour and 1/2 white flour. Add in a little bran or add fruit. Great jumping off place for any type of pancake you wish to make.
Really good tuna salad to serve on lettuce or in a sandwich
Easy to make, this freezes well and tastes great.

Pizza made with salsa, chicken and veggies - yummy!
This is a VERY low calorie, VERY easy , Very tasty and healthy dessert. You can use any flavour of jello with any flavour of yogourt you wish, The traditional Danish Dessert this is based on is Lemon and Vanilla flavoured and this combination (Lemon Jello with Vanilla Yogourt ) is still my favourite.
The calorie count on this one is with full sugar jello and no sugar added, no fat yogourt.
This is a reduced fat, much healthier version of Huevos Rancheros. Spice it up with more chili powder or add a little cayenne pepper. Approximately 350 calories for each serving and this recipe makes 4 servings. Easy to reduce amounts to single servings too.
Love greek salad, this is the one without lettuce like its supposed to be.
This keeps OK, but you will have liquid in the bottom of the bowl next day.
These are really great and to drop the calories even more cut the margarine to 1 tbsp and use artificial sweetener instead of the sugar.
This is a great cake to use in a trifle, or as the base for shortcake
This is a traditional split pea soup its really good. Cooking time is long, but takes very little time to prepare. This freezes excellently and makes 12 - 1 cup servings.
The juice measurements in this are approximate unless you are making it from bottled juice. You need a total of 3 cups juice.
Variations are endless, you can make this with any type of fruit juice.
For an easy variation use 2 boxes of jello made up as if you were making only one instead of the fruit juice and gelatine mixture.
This Is a really terrific treat for those peanut butter banana lovers out there.
Great stand alone or as a fruit dip. Flavor variation only limited by your imagination and which extracts you can find.
Really nummy easy recipe for homemade milk pudding. Add different flavours for different types, or just add in a couple of TBSP of cocoa for a great chocolate pudding.
makes about 8 1 cup servings
This is a basic recipe with numerous variations. Change up the liquid for a flavoured bread. Change the flours as long as they add up to 3 cups you can add any type of grain flour. Add a half cup of seeds (sesame, poppy, sunflower, pumpkin...) for extra crunch.
