This is the mild version, I like adding jalapenos or Thai chiles to kick it up an order of magnitude. Also if not crazy about tofu chicken or shrimp works great too. This recipe has A LOT of prep involved but the actual cooking (heat) is only about two to four minutes. Don't be daunted by the long cooking instructions there isn't too much active time involved.
This is a good and easy pasta sauce. You can cook it for 20 to 60 minutes, the longer the better. This goes GREAT with spaghetti squash.
