My husband was raving about this for months before I let out the secret that it was vegan. It's kind of on the spicy side if you're a pansy (just admit it and adjust amounts of the various peppers accordingly). Husband likes it over rice, I like it over a sweet potato. If you aren't vegan, it's good with an 1/8 to 1/4 cup of sharp cheddar on top.
I picked up this little trick at an upscale hotel I stayed at last year. It's delicious and helps make the transition from sweetened drinks to water so much easier. It tastes just like plain water until the fruity aftertaste hits you! Use any fruit that you want. I like strawberries.
I'm hoping this will give me a healthy outlet for my late night sweet cravings.
A quick and simple way to add more veggies to your life. You can use whatever kind of vegetables you like best and add them to sandwiches, pasta, etc., or just snack on them as is. The broiler really brings out the natural flavor of the vegetables like you would not believe!
With smoked sausage in place of ham and some red pepper flakes added, this version is close enough to the classic to be acceptable to my yankee sensibilities but has just enough bite to please the Texans in the house.
This is an experiment that I'm still refining. I'd love to hear suggestions.
Quick, easy, cheap and crusty. I love my bread machine! This came from recipezaar.com
I live an hour from the Louisiana border, which apparently qualifies me to create my own version of the classic Cajun rice dish. This is just stupid easy to make and much less expensive than a mix. I imagine it would be good with shrimp added too.
Amazingly creamy and easy to make, this one is divine. I usually serve it with rice and some sort of veggie or salad on the side.
This recipe is stupidly easy and very nutritious. Fresh ingredients used in place of the canned/dried ones would probably be fabulous. La Tortilla factory wraps are the lowest calorie ones that I've found to date. Don't use another brand and expect the calorie count to be the same.
* All spices are approximate, just add what you like.
One of the few healthy things that I can feed the family and not have to hear any whining about! Well...not much whining.
